Rorotan RDF Plant Begins Phased Operations

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung provided an update on the operational progress of the waste processing facility at the Rorotan RDF Plant in North Jakarta.

practically no protests regarding the odor

According to him, the facility shows significant progress, particularly regarding the reduction of odors generated during its operation.

Waste Sorting Initiative in Jakarta Reaches 23.14 Percent, Pramono Says

"But now, there are practically no protests regarding the odor, nor complaints about increased emissions," said Pramono, Monday (8/10).

The Rorotan RDF plant facility is designed with a capacity of between 2,200 and 2,400 tons per day. This increase in waste processing capacity will be implemented in stages.

Currently, the facility is operating with a capacity of 800 tons per day.

"Production involves three lines; one is already fully operational, with a capacity of 800 tons per day, while the second and third lines are currently in preparation," said Pramono.

Pramono explained that the operational optimization of the Rorotan RDF Plant depends on the smooth flow of waste transport. If the available waste reaches 2,000 tons per day, all processing lines will be operated simultaneously.

"If waste deliveries remain at 1,000, since the current line averages 800, we will use a second line to process between 200 and 400 tons," he explained.

Pramono stated that waste is transported using enclosed compactor trucks so that leachate does not cause odors in the surrounding area.

In addition, he has instructed the Jakarta Public Works Agency to construct a dedicated road for waste-hauling compactor trucks traveling from the 3R Waste Processing Site (TPS 3R) to the Rorotan RDF Plant.
